Credit checks on a rental property

We have lived in Spain for 7 years . We both get a good monthly pension and a deposit is of no problem, however, because we have been out of England for 7 years, we realise that a credit check can't be carried out on us. Would that cause us a problem? Kind Regards Mike Evans.

  • Hello Mike, The lettings agent / landlord should still be able to undertake a credit check against your name but they may request a guarantor or other form of security. As long as you pension payments can sufficiently cover the rent, it doesn't sound to me that you will have any issues. Thanks
