Where do distressed assets / repossession sites get their data from?

I have found sites like 'property to renovate' and 'repolist'. I am curious as to where they get their data about the state of the property. Do they go through government records to find out what charges have been placed on a property? If so where is that data source? Or do they crawl Zoopla for repossession keywords?

  • Hello David, I think they scrape the main property portals and look for key terms that the property has been repossessed. Lenders with such properties have an obligation to seek the best price on the open market (i.e. through an estate agent or auction house), so there's no such thing as an "exclusive" list. Thanks, Ruban
