  • You can sell through an agent or do it independently. You can advertise online and get people to contact you and have a list of questions you want to ask. You could even get a correx board with for sale printed, put a number you're happy to be called on and stick it somewhere. There are a few ways to sell your house, it's a matter of considering different factors e.g. time, how much you need. Consider your situation then look into selling methods that suit you.

  • I realise this question is a year old, but for the benefit of other property owners who are considering selling; a good starting point is to get three valuations from local estate agents an then appoint the estate agent you are most happy with (not necessarily the one who suggests the highest price!). Some properties are better suited to a sale at auction (e.g. properties requiring modernisation or with development potential), so you might want to consider getting a quote from a property auctioneer too.
